Problem of Prostitution in Bangladesh: An Analytical Study from Islamic Perspective

The research aims at exploring the vices of prostitution in Bangladesh by identifying and analyzing its causes, as well as, suggesting probable solutions to this social problem, which corrupts civilization, disrupts the health, and threatens social security. There can be many reasons for the origin of prostitution; the most notable ones are: poverty, disintegration of family ties, deprivation of women’s economic rights, human trafficking, easy access to pornography, delay in marriage, lack of morality, and the like. The research has suggested some solutions to eliminate this problem, some considerable suggestions are: Awakening the feeling of Allah’s supervision, teaching morality, arranging marriage at proper age, giving freedom to choose spouse, facilitating marriage, giving women the wealth, they deserve, establishing working places suitable for women, raising relief funds to rehabilitate the victims, and implementing laws strictly, etc.
